A Wal-Mart worker died this morning after being trampled by Black Friday shoppers who actually broke down the doors to the Wal-Mart store in Valley Stream, NY, on Long Island, report the Associated Press and Reuters.

The 34-year-old worker, who worked for a temp agency, was pronounced dead at 6 AM in a hospital, an hour after the store had opened and he had been knocked down by shoppers.

Wal-Mart headquarters said a medical emergency had prompted the company to close the store.

At least four other people were injured, including a 28-year-old pregnant woman; all of them were taken to a hospital for observation.
